What Gail does at the Foundation:
As our Manager of Civic Engagement, Gail manages volunteer engagement efforts including volunteer marketing, recruitment, retention and appreciation strategies. She also coordinates and facilitates RVA Engage, a civic engagement board working to improve volunteerism across the region. In addition to managing the HandsOn community database, Gail also develops and delivers trainings that increase the capacity of nonprofits and educates the community about civic engagement.
Gail loves working with individuals who desire to do good in the community. Through her role, she often sees the difficult problems facing the Richmond region, yet she feels inspired by the enthusiasm of volunteers who want to make a difference.
When Gail’s not working:
Gail’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and friends. She loves games of any kind, from board games to sports, and has earned the nickname “Auntie Game” with her many nieces and nephews. She also loves anything outside – gardening, playing sports, watching sports, walking, etc.! You can often find her watching her kids’ sporting events, on a tennis court or watching tennis.
