What Lincoln does at the Foundation:
Lincoln oversees our three affiliate community foundations: Gloucester Community Foundation, Mathews Community Foundation, and River Counties Community Foundation. He manages the work of the affiliate staff, community grantmaking, and nonprofit and donor outreach, while also building and maintaining the relationships and activities for all three affiliates’ advisory boards. Lincoln is dedicated to strengthening the foundation’s commitment to rural philanthropy in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, and he most enjoys seeing all the amazing work the many nonprofits on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula are doing to support those in the community who need it most.
When Lincoln is not working:
He loves spending time outside, hiking the forests and kayaking the many rivers of the Northern Neck, where he lives. You’ll rarely see him anywhere without his husband George and their two dogs: a Yellow Lab named Huckleberry, and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Helen. Lincoln is an environmentalist and advocate for progressive causes, focusing most of his personal philanthropy on racial and LGBT equality, rural equity, conservation of wild lands and rivers, regenerative agriculture, and organizations addressing local food systems.
