Anne Micou Delhagen Scholarship

The Anne Micou Delhagen Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by the family, to honor a teacher who dedicated much of her life teaching reading and English. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of Thomas Dale High School or Carver College and Career Academy (Chesterfield Community High School), Chesterfield County, Virginia. The recipient of the scholarship will be the student who has shown the ability to capitalize on hidden potential.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending Thomas Dale High School or Carver College and Career Academy (formerly Chesterfield Community High School) in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

An eligible student must demonstrate the willingness to overcome difficulties or capitalize on hidden potential.

An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university, or technical school in the continental United States the following academic year.

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles that could influence academic performance and ability to capitalize on hidden potential based on personal statement

Academic achievement based on grade point average and SAT scores.

Extracurricular activities and involvement in the community.

Personal Statement Topic: Overcoming an obstacle or some other type of difficulty
