Lillian Sutherland Clements Memorial Scholarship

The Lillian Sutherland Clements Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by Susan Barrick in memory of her friend, Arline, and her mother, Lillian Sutherland Clements, who demonstrated through her life an abiding concern for others. Lillian’s family has deep roots in Dinwiddie County, and more specifically in Sutherland, Virginia. The purpose of this scholarship is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying high school graduates of Dinwiddie High School.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending Dinwiddie High School, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23841.

An eligible student must demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement, financial need and demonstrated care and concern for others.

An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in any accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university or community college in the United States.

Selection Criteria

Academic performance evaluated on grade point average and SAT test scores.

Commitment to and involvement in community service activities.

Financial need will be evaluated on the basis of the completed Student Financial Information Form and information regarding pending scholarship applications, if any.
