Raymond F. Burmester Endowment for Scholastic Achievement Scholarship

The Raymond F. Burmester Endowment for Scholastic Achievement was established in 1996 by Raymond F. Burmester for the benefit of graduating seniors at Northumberland High School, Heathsville, Virginia. Students with the highest scholastic class standing will be selected based on the criteria outlined below.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending Northumberland High School, PO Box 40, Heathsville, Virginia 22473.

An eligible student must achieve a GPA of 4.0 or higher. Academic career pursuit, leadership qualities, financial need, personality, or popularity are not factors for consideration.

An eligible student must matriculate into a 4-year college or university

Prohibitions for eligibility include:

The scholarship shall not be awarded in conjunction with a scholarship awarded for athletic prowess.

Other considerations:

This scholarship may be awarded in conjunction with other scholastic achievement and/or financial-aid scholarships but is restricted to room, board, and/or tuition.

If there are less than three students who meet the eligibility criteria stated above, scholarships shall be awarded to three students with the highest academic standing.

Selection Criteria

Eligible students are selected by the principal or guidance department of Northumberland High School. Please see your guidance counselor for more details.
