William Reed Baker Outstanding Senior Award

William Reed Baker, a 1992 graduate of Hampton High School, was a strong athlete, a fine student, and a dear friend to all who knew him. He lived life wholeheartedly, with a mature confidence, and touched many lives. His family, friends and classmates establish this award, in his memory, to allow his legacy to thrive in the accomplishments of the exceptional students who receive this award. The purpose of this scholarship is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of Hampton High School, Hampton, Virginia. The recipient of the scholarship will be a student who best exemplifies William Reed Baker's commitment to academics, sportsmanship, school and community service activities, and dedication to fellow classmates.

Eligibility

An eligible student must be a senior attending Hampton High School, 1491 Queen Street, Hampton, Virginia 23669.

An eligible student must demonstrate outstanding commitment to academics, athletics, school and community activities, and also a commitment to fellow classmates.

An eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited 4-year college or university the following academic year.

Selection Criteria

Eligible students are selected by the principal or guidance department of Hampton High School.Please see your guidance counselor for more details.

Commitment to fellow classmates and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Academic achievement will be evaluated based on grade point average and academic honors.

Dedication and involvement in athletics and community service activities.
