Collective Giving

Discover how to amplify your impact by pooling your resources with the Community Foundation to address critical needs or with other donors who share your interests. It can be a great way to meet people, learn about the issues, engage more deeply and award more significant grants.

Fulfilling Ways to Give Together

Community Impact Fund

The Community Impact Fund is an unrestricted fund that supports the Community Foundation's annual community grants program. Donor contributions are combined with income from the Foundation’s endowment, thereby providing greater flexibility in addressing the pressing needs or promising opportunities facing the Richmond region each year. You can rely on the deep knowledge and expertise of Foundation staff to ensure that your gift will be invested strategically in our community and leveraged for greater impact. Together, we make larger, more meaningful grants.

      Giving Together Initiatives

Involvement with collaborative, responsive, and regional solutions is an integral part of our work at the Community Foundation. From time to time we will share bold, promising initiatives that the Community Foundation has supported, but need additional support to reach ambitious goals to benefit the people and communities within our region. We invite you to join us in learning about and supporting these critical efforts, including:

      • Amandla Fund for Economic and Racial Justice
Provides long-term investments to support Black communities and address systemic racism through economic mobility
      • Fund for Entrepreneurial Growth
Support technical and mentoring supports to emerging entrepreneurs and existing small business owners so that more individuals can experience success in starting and growing businesses of their own.
      • Conserve the Future Fund
Supports projects and organizations with a focus on benefiting the environment, conserving natural resources and enhancing regional sustainability.

    Giving Circles

Giving circles are collective giving programs that bring donors together around common interests. Each year, members pool their resources and make grant decisions together. It is a fun, social and rewarding way to make a greater difference together than they would separately.

    • Impact 100 Richmond
A women's philanthropy group that aims to award at least one $100,000 transformational grant each year to a local nonprofit with a big idea and great potential
    • ouRVA Collective
A group for the next generation of philanthropists to make an impact in the Richmond community through education, volunteerism, community building, and collective giving
    • SisterFund
A grassroots donor education and grantmaking initiative that unites civic-minded African American women's ideas and action through philanthropy
    • Ujima Legacy Fund
A forum of civic-minded African American men who are increasing their philanthropic presence and impact in the metro Richmond community
