Community Foundation Announces 2018 Animal Welfare Grants

 

This past week, the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond announced its support to eight local animal welfare organizations, totaling $93,550. Funding increased nearly $20,000 from last year, and the Foundation has three new nonprofit partners.

Grants support activities and expenses related to animal care, shelter or medical services, including spay and neuter facilities, outreach efforts and/or education programs, no-kill animal shelter/adoption programs, support for cats and dogs owned by low-income or elderly residents, training or placing companion animals for people with mobility or therapeutic needs and operation, capacity or capital support for the organization.

Grant Recipients:

St. Francis Humane Association – $4,000

Richmond Animal League – $20,000

Capital Area Rescue Effort (CARE) – $9,850

FETCH a Cure – $9,850

Richmond SPCA – $20,000

Henrico Humane Society – $15,000

Prevent A Litter Veterinary Hospital – $9,850

Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts (CARE) – $5,000

Total Grants: $93,550
